about us
Platform Against Nuclear Dangers (PLAGE) was founded in 1986 as Platform Against FRP Wackersdorf (fuel reprocessing plant in Bavaria/Germany - near the Austrian border). Almost all work is done by honorary members.

The Wackersdorf Project was suddenly stopped in the late 80s because of strong resistance by German and Austrian citizens. More than 880.000 objections were collected against the facility: 440.000 by Austria (120.000 from Salzburg).

Since the prevention of Wackersdorf, PLAGE deals with various issues concerning nuclear energy and renewable energies, e.g.:

Legal and political actions related to the Temelin Nuclear Power Plant, Czech Republic; Non-Nuclear Countries Coalition (NoNuCC / KOALA); radiation health card (for x-rays); solar cookers for India, etc.
